During the Battle of Manila (1945), the Hunters ROTC, under the command of Lt. Col. Emmanuel V. de Ocampo, fought with the U.S. Army from Nasugbo to the Manila General Post Office.[5]:87 The Hunters also jointly operated with the Philippine Commonwealth Army and Philippine Constabulary and the American soldiers and military officers of the United States Army in many operations in Manila, Rizal, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas and Tayabas.
This film is the legacy of one of the greatest unknown heroes of World War II.
About the Director:
Bani Logroño is a Filipino writer and director, most notably known for his award-winning World War II documentaries aimed towards inspiring the next generation of heroes in the Philippines through historical education for the youth. Working with the production team called Spyron•AV Manila, the documentaries are brought to various schools, universities and organizations around the world for young students to learn about their nearly forgotten Philippine World War II history.
Mr. Logroño’s recent 54-minute documentary called “Unsurrendered 2: The Hunters ROTC Guerrillas” has recently gained acclaim and recognition in various film festivals around the world, including New Zealand, Indonesia, Canada, and Hollywood. Filipino historians and professors have hailed the film as the best World War II documentary about the Philippines.
At 24 years old, Mr. Logroño has been known as one of the youngest director in the Philippines to advocate World War II history.
