– Larry Itliong and Phillip Vera Cruz, Filipino American Farm Labor Leaders
– 430 Years of Filipinos Landing in 1587 in Morro Bay, California
– 70th Anniversary of the 1947 U.S. Military Bases Treaty, leading to massive recruitment of Filipinos in the U.S. Navy, and subsequent mass migration to San Diego, Hawaii, Norfolk/Virginia Beach, and Guam
– 35th Anniversary of founding of the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS)

Organizer of Filipino American History Month Celebration: Keeping the Legacies Alive Organizer Founded on 26 November 1982, the Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) is a community-based non-profit organization whose mission is “to promote understanding, education, enlightenment, appreciation, and enrichment through the identification, gathering, preservation, and dissemination of the history and culture of Filipino Americans in the United States” with the goal “...to preserve, document, and present Filipino American history and to support scholarly research and artistic works which reflect that rich past...” There are currently 35 FANHS Chapters nationwide, including the San Francisco Bay Area Consortium consisting of San Francisco and East Bay Chapters.How to Register
